When will the other photo resources be ready?
The resources for children aged 5-11years and 12-18 years will be ready by the end of July 2010. The resource for children in the first year of life will be available later in the year. Sign up for the CWT newsletter to get an alert when new resources are available.
Can I download the food photographs from this website?
At the moment we are only able to offer the food photographs and all the background information in the form of a book with a CD Rom or as a book, CD Rom and hard copies of the photo cards. All the photos are on the CD Rom so you can use these in presentations or to make other resources if you wish.
We may be able to offer downloading of resources in the future though, so sign up to the CWT newsletter for information.
What can I do if I don't want to buy the food photos from you?
If you want to get someone to make up your food photo cards for you, then you can take the CD Rom to a printer to get hard copies made of any of the information you need. If you have a colour printer and laminator you can make your own photo cards. The photos on the CD Rom are medium resolution as it would be impossible to fit many high resolution pictures on to one CD Rom. The picture quality of any photo cards made from the CD Rom might not therefore be as good as the ones we have produced.
What if I want pictures of other meals and snacks?
Over the next year we will be developing this website further to provide ideas on how to create your own food photos to suit the groups of people you work with or to provide more ideas for suitable meals and snacks. Keep checking the website or sign up to the CWT newsletter.
Who can I go to for help with menu planning in a child care setting?
If you want help with menu planning for a child care setting (a nursery, children’s centre, childminder setting for example) you can usually get support from your local community dietitians. Call your local PCT to find out how to contact the community dietetic department.
Alternatively check the CWT website to find a list of dietitians and registered public health nutritionists across the UK who can help with training in this area.
What software did you use to plan the menus in your books?
We used software produced by Nutmeg. (www.nutmeg-uk.com)
Do you have food photographs suitable for supporting adults or older people to eat well?
Yes - we have produced food photos showing how adults can eat well and we are also producing resources especially for older people or people who may need to alter the texture of their food. For information about these resources see the CWT website.
